This digital retouching technique is perfect for fixing messy or missing hair. The girl's hair in this sepia toned example was thinly spread over her back. Extra hair was added down her back giving the illusion of fuller hair. Then the top of her head was rebuilt and a new background added. Improving a photo for publication often requires some kind of digital cosmetic touch up.
